Oy...It's been awhile eh? Well...let's see here...what has been happening in Charity's world?
The wind is coming from the north tonight and the elk across the creek have started bugling and as slowly as summer came on it is fading. The nights are getting longer, the days are getting shorter and the wind has a bite to it. My favorite time of year is Fall...Small town football, Hunting Season, and being in some of the most gorgeous country on earth when the leaves change doesn't hurt either. I am in LOVE with Montana...especially this time of year.
But...what I have been up to goes as follows: In short it's been a nice eventful few weeks...but if you want the lengthy, more detailed account...keep reading :)
I guess I'll start at our trip to Yellowstone a couple of weeks ago. I had a long weekend off of work so we decided to head down to the Park to celebrate our 4 YEAR anniversary! First off, I can't believe it's already been four years. My husband is amazing and I love him more than anything on Earth! Anyways, we headed down on a Friday and had a good day cruising around. We didn't see much wildlife which is unusual, however we usually go later in the season instead of right in the swing of it so since there was so many people, I'm guessing that's why we didnt see much. We did see Bison of course, and elk and a bear..but that was pretty much it and all of them were not in the main part of the park, all the animals we saw were on the side roads, SO if you are planning a trip there, make the time to head off of the main loop. We stayed the night in Cooke City which is the North East entrance, so that we could come home over the Beartooth Pass...Let me tell you, I am so glad that I got to see that...it is AMAZING!! At almost 11,000 feet ASL,(for comparison's sake- Logan Pass in Glacier Park is about 6,600 feet ASL) it's gorgeous and only open for like 3 months out of the year and closed from 8PM to 8AM on the days it's passable...breathtaking beauty lemme tell you. Plus I got to feed chipmunks at one of the overlooks and that totally made the trip...when a fat little chipmunk comes up to you and holds your outstretched hand while it eats the offered sunflower seed it's pretty dang cool. Anyways, it was a great trip and we had a wonderful time and as always I HIGHLY recommend Yellowstone Park and now the Beartooth Highway as must see summer destinations!
The following weekend was the county fair and rodeo. I entered several items in the fair- Pepper Jam, Date Cookies, and some Photographs. I WON Best of show for my Jam...YAY! And I got Blue Ribbons on my Cookies and some of my Photographs, Red on the rest of the Photos. We took in the rodeo and played around but nothing else too eventful.
This last weekend, We had to take down some dead trees around my Grandparent's ranch, so I had fun using a chainsaw for the first time and Puttering around on the tractor and spending time with my family. I said "See you soon" to a friend who was going back to Nevada for the school year (she's a teacher) and had a couple drinks with another pal who I haven't seen in a while Then....Sunday I got sick...and today, I am finally on the mend. Whoof, I wouldn't wish that sickness on anyone.
ANNNYWAYS...It's been great, and I am very happy right now. I am so thankful for everything I have in my life, I am very blessed.
Thanks for Reading, Charity
