Rain Rain Go Away?

So dreary and gloomy today!  So, I was selling concessions at a softball tournament with friends today for the dance team that I am coaching.  WE had a lot of fun (inside), however I don't think that the softball players were too awful fond of the constant rain drizzle we had goin on all day.  Now, I love the rain...it could rain every single day for all I care, but God does seem to have a sense of humor about when he decides to make it rain.  It's rarely during the week while everyone is working...no, it's on the weekend and especially the weekend when there is something planned ie: a trip to the lake or a softball tournament.  We got money raised for new uniforms and had a fabulous time making burgers and meeting new people!

Adding To Our Zoo

So...as you probably know, we have a plethora of pets, One Dog- Dakota, Two Cats- Paul and Steve, Two Birds- Beaker and Petrie, and Four Hermit Crabs- Zoidberg, Kahn, Chowder and Butters.  For this week, we have my Mom and Step-Dad's two dogs- Sooner (a Male Basset) and Ruby ( a Female Lab) out here on the Farm while they are on an Alaskan cruise. (lucky ducks)   How do I say this nicely.....Sooner and Ruby are not the most well behaved dogs in town...Ruby is just a puppy and just needs some attention and someone to play with her to be happy and not chew everything she sees into a bazillion little pieces.  Done and Done.  Sooner on the other hand is just an asshole.  He's a pretty good dog but he doesnt listen, barks at EVERYTHING (a bark collar won't even work on this animal) and is a pretty cranky dog, I call him "The grumpy old man.  These dogs are tormenting my poor little kitties and Dakota, Jason and I and they haven't even been here for 24 hours yet....This is gonna be a great week.....

This is Ruby

Paul, Steve, and The Gobblers

We got two kitties from a litter my grandparent's cat had.  Their names are Paul and Steve.  Paul is the one with the darker tail and ears.

Also, here are the turkeys we had in our yard the other morning that I wrote about in my last post. :-)

Country Living

I absolutely adore living in the country!  It's so peaceful sitting out on our deck and just hearing the wind through the leaves, the birds chirping and the creek running.  I got so used to hearing nothing but Interstate and sirens that I forgot how lovely it is.  I love having to chase deer from our garden (even if they are a pain in the butt and are eating everything), and watching them graze in the field below our house.  Just the other morning we were awoken to a mother wild turkey and her 12 babies in our yard, eating the bird seed from our bird feeder that had fallen on the ground.  We have the pleasure of living right across the dirt road from an elk farm too, and in the fall, when you get to wake up to elk bugling...wonderful!  I absolutely love living out here and you won't be able to drag me back to the city in a bazillion years!  I thought the drive back and forth to town would bother me but it's nice because it gives me time to think and unwind.  This is my heaven.

Love Like Crazy

There is a song that I love called "Love Like Crazy" by Lee Brice. My favorite part is the Chorus which goes:

"Be a best friend, tell the truth, and overuse 'I love you'
Go to work, do your best, don't outsmart your common sense
Never let your prayin knees get lazy
And love like crazy"

I think this sends a great message.

I try to be the best friend I can be...some don't seem to appreciate this, or use me because I am (or was) too willing to help.  To some people the best friend I can be to them is an aquaintance, to some, it's to be a best friend, and I am perfectly happy to play both roles.  Sometimes I wish that more people were willing to play the part of  a good (meaning quality) friend to me, but oh well.  The only tride and true friend that I feel I have lives in California.  We have been friends FOREVER...like since we were babies forever, and I miss her terribly.  The best thing is that we can go weeks, months, or even years between talking or even seeing eachother, yet we pick up like we just saw eachother yesterday, and I love that we have that relationship.  I miss you Quinnie!

Telling the truth in all situations is difficult to do.  I tell the truth when it is necessary, but I believe in "white lies".

I totally overuse the phrase "I love you"...I tell everyone I love them!  But I ALWAYS mean it when I say it...weather it's just in that moment that I love them...or if I have loved them forever, it's always sincere.

I do my best at whatever work comes my way these days...but I am just as guilty as everyone else on earth in saying that I did have lazy days when working the 40 hour a week job.

My praying knees have gotten lazy the last few years...not so much lazy...but confused.  I believe in GOD...but I also believe that there is no one GOD...I feel like things would be easier to deal with in life if I had more faith, however I am confused about what to believe, just for myself.  I have a friend, Jen, who is so sure of her faith, Im a little jealous.  But she inspires me to strive to find out what I will choose to believe in.

And loving like crazy?  Well...is there any other way to love?

Breathe~Ryan Star

she's fine, most of the time she takes her days with a smile she moves like dancing in light spinning around to the sound sometimes she falls down breathe, just breathe take the world off your shoulders and put it on me breathe, just breathe let the life that you lead be all that you need she likes New York at night she dreams of her own in her wake shine on, pray like the sun and even the skies turns grey i need you to hear me say breathe, just breathe take the world off your shoulders and put it on me breathe, just breathe let the life that you lead be all that you need let go of the fear let go of the time let go of the one to try to put you down you're gonna be fine don't hold it inside go ahead right now and let it all come round breathe, just breathe take the world off your shoulders and put it on me breathe, just breathe let the life that you lead be all that you need breathe, just breathe take the world off your shoulders and put it on me breathe, just breathe let the life that you lead be all that you need

So...

Fall is definately in the air...I can feel it...and am seeing the first signs of it. We had yellow leaves on our deck the other day. Fall and Spring are my favorite seasons. Fall, because of the cool air, the bright colors, and small town football. Spring becuase of the "fresh start" feeling it gives...things seeming lifeless and drab are suddenly beautiful and bright. Anyhoo...this doesnt have anything to do with anything...just something I am thinking about at this moment. I was hoping that our move out of the "big city" would help in the solving of my feelings of uselessness/sadness/confusion. It hasn't really. Some things are better, but others remain unchanged. I know that finding a job would help immensly in this department and I am working on it. I applied for a job at our local K-12 school that I desperately wanted and hoped to get. But...two weeks later and no call back, to find out tonight from a friend that works at the school, that they filled the position internally since the Mill levy didn't pass. Which is fine...I'd rather someone who already works there still have a job (really). So she encouraged me to apply to be a substitute teacher since they are low on those this year. I had an interview last week for a job that I think I'd like but won't LOVE...so we will see what that brings...Im hoping my friend that applied for the same job gets it since she has 3 babies at home. So...the search continues. I was asked to help with our local dance team this year. Im super stoked about that! I will be the high school team's coach, and am starting them off with an ass beating kick routine. (2 minutes and 30 seconds of high kicks!) As I said, I am super excited to get back in the swing with dance and hopefully help the girls learn some new technique since they have been a few years without a coach with dance background. The coaches had practice tonight since all girls (3 year olds through high school) will be doing this first dance since our performance is only 4 short weeks away! eek! However kick routines are hard to do but easy to learn. It kicked my arse the first few times I did it and I choreographed the stupid thing, but is not so bad anymore. So anyways...tomorrow will be a hard core job search day for both Jason and I...I hope he's prepared!

Oh My!

Oh my goodness gracious! Well...I'll give you the brief version of what has happened this summer so far! We FINALLY got moved into our house in Small Town, WOOP! We have been here over a month and still aren't quite settled...oh well...soon enough! We had Two family reunions in July one for the H family and one for the M family. The H one was ok...lots of people I have never met and probably will never see again, but it was nice to see all the people that showed up, if for nobody else than my grandpa. The M reunion was a lot of fun! Went camping for a week up at the Lake. It was really nice to be able to spend time with those family mebers that I don't get to see very often. Then, Jay took his BAR exam and he thinks he did pretty well on it. YAY!! Then, Rodeo/Fair weekend, and now, getting started with Dance. Busy bees we are! Anyhoo....nothing too exciting happening lately!
