Photo Challenge: AGE
Hello Friday!! I have longed for thee! This week's photo challenge from RAZMATAZ is AGE. I love history. Partly because, like an ass...everybody has one!
The kind of history I am most interested in is personal histories...family histories. Not so much world or american history...although still interesting, I like to hear people's stories much more. I used to work in a rest home, and my favorite part was talking with the residents. They would tell me about their mothers, about life on a ranch "back then", about living in the city, and what brought them to sleepy Montana, and my favorites...what MY grandparents were like when they were younger.
This is also what I love about small towns. Everybody knows everybody...and while that is not always convenient, it is pretty dang neat when you can go to the local museum and see the sewing machine for shoes that your great great grandpa used to make shoes for his family. I love how every time we get together as a family, I learn something new about my elders' pasts. (like how my grandpa roped a deer when he was a teenager) and even though my Grandpa has only a 6th grade education (because after that, he had to help on the family farm) he is still one of the smartest people I know.
My father loved History. I think that is where I get my love of history from....he was so smart. You could ask him anything about it and he would know, and explain it to you in a way that you would understand...he was so passionate. I miss him very much.
But anyways...I know that was somewhat random...but here are my photos for this week's photo challenge. Enjoy!

Wonderful Weekend
Well, this weekend was a good un! Friday night Jason and I went to a friend's birthday party and had a fabulous time with good friends, good food and good drinks!
Saturday Jason and I hosted a "We will miss you, come back safe!" party for my brother who is on his way overseas for a year long tour in Iraq. Again, a good time with great family, good friends, good food, and good drinks! We will miss you, brother! Thank you so much for your service to our country! We LOVE you!
Today was spent ripping apart our master bathroom. Now I need a good drink! We have had a new bathtub sitting in our house in it's crate since before we even moved in....in June. However, we are just now getting around to ripping out the old one, tearing up the old damaged flooring and fixing some plumbing issues. So now, we have to install the new tub, put up the framing stuff that needs to be installed around the tub and shower, put in a new floor, put in new flooring, paint, install baseboards and decorate the beautiful mess. I bought all the rugs, towels, towel bars/rings/hooks, shelves, pretty glass bubble bath/bath salt/bath oil bottles, toilet paper thingies, soap dispensers, etc. etc. before we moved....and they are all sitting neatly in a box in our closet just waiting to be put out and admired (because of course I couldnt put those lovely things out in an ugly unfinished bathroom!!)....I can't wait!!! I will post before and after photos as soon as it is done!
I'm sure you are all thinking "well...thanks for that extra special glimpse into your life...." but, I am excited since this is our first house, with our first yard, as husband and wife.

Life's a Dance You Learn as You Go
Well...No High School dancers this year. Not any interest I guess. I am really disappointed. I was so looking forward to teaching older girls so that I could work more with them on technique and focusing on making them really really good at what they do. I was looking forward to taking them to camp this summer, the same camps I used to go to and LOVED. However, there is always next year, and there are girls that will be moving up next year that are showing a lot of potential. I just hate that I got so excited about it. I always seem to jinx myself when I get super stoked about something.
I am excited though that I will be co-coaching the 5-7 year olds. They are so adorable and so eager to learn. I am looking forward to this year, it will be a good one!

Eating Pickles in Bed
Tonight while I was sitting in bed, munching a pickle and reading my book, I though..."Damn, I really need to get my shit together. AN EPIPHANY! I seem to have gotten a little to comfortable just hanging out around the house...fehk. Why on Earth...did it take me so long to do something. I'm getting started...teaching dance and working one day a week for my honorary Grandma. But I need to seriously find a job. As I said in an earlier post, I was very encouraged to apply as a substitute teacher at the school. I always envision Peggy Hill when I think of substitute teachers. A woman who thinks it is the most amazing profession in the world! I would love to be that passionate about my profession, haha.
So...I plan on finally applying for a substitute job tomorrow or Thursday. Wish me luck!

Photo Challenge
A blogger that I follow, follows another blogger that sets up a weekly photo challenge for her followers. (that sounds weird but I hope it makes sense) I have decided to take part in this, as I am looking for ways to broaden my photography horizons. Every Friday, I will post a photo of my interpretation of her theme...so...on we go! I hope I can learn something from this.

Heaven
Oh, thinking about all our younger years,
There was only you and me,
We were young and wild and free.
Now nothing can take you away from me.
We’ve been down that road before,
But that's over now.
You keep me coming back for more.
Baby you're all that I want.
When you're lying here in my arms
I'm finding it hard to believe
We're in heaven.
Love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart.
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven.
Once in your life you find someone
Who will turn your world around,
pick you up when you're feeling down.
Now, nothing could change what you mean to me.
There's a lot that I could say
But just hold me now,
Cause our love will light the way.
Baby you're all that I want.
When you're lying here in my arms
I'm finding it hard to believe
We're in heaven.
Love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart.
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven.
I've been waiting for so long,
For something to arrive,
For your love to come along.
Now our dreams are coming true.
Through the good times and the bad
I'll be standing there by you.
Baby you're all that I want.
When you're lying here in my arms
I'm finding it hard to believe
We're in heaven.
Love is all that I need
