All I see is orange and camo

Tis the season...Hunting Season!   And the Lord has made sure it is a bountiful one!  My grandpa is a guide for a group of gentlemen from Washington, and the rest of my family helps out with dragging, gutting, skinning etc...Right now we have at least 20 deer/elk hanging out in my grandpa's shop...and not a small one in the bunch.  We have been blessed this year with lots of meat which is awesome!  Now we just gotta get my grandpa's elk and my cousins' elk and I think we'll be good.  We have been having a lot of fun bobbin around the mountains, playing in the snow, and trapseing through the woods.  I have had a ball hanging out with my grandpa and my cousins!  Can't wait for tomorrow!

la de da

So...my 30 day blog challenge is going out the window...Im bored with it (haha)  and have missed too many days to consider continuing.
Let's see....not much has happened since my last "real" post.  I got a job at the school as a substitute teacher.  The teachers I know say that I can work anywhere from 3-5 days a week doing that, so that's exciting.
Ummm....went to Yellowstone Park on Saturday.  Saw elk, bison, bears, bighorn sheep, deer, eagles, water birds...etc.
Jason gets sworn in tomorrow and will finally, technically an attorney!  YAY JASON!!!  Im so proud of you!

Salvation

A week or so ago, I wrote a post about finding my spiritual path.  About how I lost my way from God and about how confused I was about God, and about how lost I felt.  I complained about people being judgemental.  After I read said post again, I realized that I was judging them.  Nice huh?  So, I erased the post.  I probably shouldnt have, I probably should have kept it as a reminder to not throw stones...but...too late now.

Anyways, on Sunday I met with the pastor of the church that I attended awhile ago and his wife.  I spoke with them about the ways I felt about my faith.  About how I was struggling with my faith.  And about how I felt that God was guiding me back to the church, and back to Christianity.  We talked for a long while, and I decided to accept God back into my lilfe.  We stood at the altar, I said The Sinner's Prayer, and asked God to forgive me for turning my back to him.

I know it may sound crazy, but I felt better immediately.  I still have a long way to go to reach understanding.  However, I believe that I am on the right track.  I feel better and better each day with my decision, and I want to thank those who supported me through this difficult decision.

Photo Challenge: AGE

Hello Friday!!  I have longed for thee!  This week's photo challenge from RAZMATAZ is AGE.  I love history.  Partly because, like an ass...everybody has one!

The kind of history I am most interested in is personal histories...family histories. Not so much world or american history...although still interesting, I like to hear people's stories much more.  I used to work in a rest home, and my favorite part was talking with the residents.  They would tell me about their mothers, about life on a ranch "back then", about living in the city, and what brought them to sleepy Montana, and my favorites...what MY grandparents were like when they were younger.
This is also what I love about small towns.  Everybody knows everybody...and while that is not always convenient, it is pretty dang neat when you can go to the local museum and see the sewing machine for shoes that your great great grandpa used to make shoes for his family.  I love how every time we get together as a family, I learn something new about my elders' pasts. (like how my grandpa roped a deer when he was a teenager) and even though my Grandpa has only a 6th grade education (because after that, he had to help on the family farm) he is still one of the smartest people I know.

My father loved History.  I think that is where I get my love of history from....he was so smart.  You could ask him anything about it and he would know, and explain it to you in a way that you would understand...he was so passionate.  I miss him very much.

But anyways...I know that was somewhat random...but here are my photos for this week's photo challenge.  Enjoy!

Wonderful Weekend

Well, this weekend was a good un!  Friday night Jason and I went to a friend's birthday party and had a fabulous time with good friends, good food and good drinks!

Saturday Jason and I hosted a "We will miss you, come back safe!" party for my brother who is on his way overseas for a year long tour in Iraq.  Again, a good time with great family, good friends, good food, and good drinks!  We will miss you, brother!  Thank you so much for your service to our country!  We LOVE you!

Today was spent ripping apart our master bathroom.  Now I need a good drink!  We have had a new bathtub sitting in our house in it's crate since before we even moved in....in June.  However, we are just now getting around to ripping out the old one, tearing up the old damaged flooring and fixing some plumbing issues.  So now, we have to install the new tub, put up the framing stuff that needs to be installed around the tub and shower, put in a new floor, put in new flooring, paint, install baseboards and decorate the beautiful mess.  I bought all the rugs, towels, towel bars/rings/hooks, shelves, pretty glass bubble bath/bath salt/bath oil bottles, toilet paper thingies, soap dispensers, etc. etc. before we moved....and they are all sitting neatly in a box in our closet just waiting to be put out and admired (because of course I couldnt put those lovely things out in an ugly unfinished bathroom!!)....I can't wait!!!  I will post before and after photos as soon as it is done!

I'm sure you are all thinking "well...thanks for that extra special glimpse into your life...."  but, I am excited since this is our first house, with our first yard, as husband and wife.

Life's a Dance You Learn as You Go

Well...No High School dancers this year.  Not any interest I guess.  I am really disappointed.  I was so looking forward to teaching older girls so that I could work more with them on technique and focusing on making them really really good at what they do.  I was looking forward to taking them to camp this summer, the same camps I used to go to and LOVED.  However, there is always next year, and there are girls that will be moving up next year that are showing a lot of potential.  I just hate that I got so excited about it.  I always seem to jinx myself when I get super stoked about something.

I am excited though that I will be co-coaching the 5-7 year olds.  They are so adorable and so eager to learn.  I am looking forward to this year, it will be a good one!
